So..I meant to get around to this the day after Phantom. Unfortunatly (but not for me), I was enjoying myself too much to get around to sitting down and writing this.
Phantom was fantastic, I really want to go see it again. We had a fantastic evening.
We arrived at the hotel mid afternoon, we were staying at the Millennium Mayfair hotel, not far from the American Embassy. Our room was fantastic, such a beautiful old building too. Expensive, but worth it, though I don’t think I’d pay quite that much again unless it was a special occasion. I got spoilt, my sweetie paid for us this time, a year to the day that we met.
We unpacked, got ready and then headed out for dinner and the show. We were originally planning on eating in Planet Hollywood before the show but there was an hour’s wait, so we went elsewhere. Then, Phantom..it was incredible. I love the film, but the film was nothing next to this. The acting was incredible, the music perfect. Our Christine and Phantom were both great, and Raoul was such a fantastic improvement on the film. Not bland at all ^^ I wish they’d left some of the scenes in the film, I loved the extra character background. The theatre’s really beautiful, I want to go again. Next thing on my list is a trip to see Wicked, a treat for my sweet.
After the show we headed straight back to the hotel, got lost in a giant bed and next morning, checked out to move on to a town near Porstmouth to stay with my sweetie’s family for the rest of the week. They’re absolutely lovely, went out of their way to make me feel at home. Not as good as home, but the next best thing. I’m looking forward to getting to know them better.
We had a busy week, despite the rain. Took Rosie for a walk, visited Stubbington, Fareham, Portsmouth Historical Dockyard, visited Marwell Zoo..and visited some castle, the name of which has fled from my brain. Hoping to get some pics up later. Did us some Christmas shopping while we were there too. We both really enjoyed ourselves. The only not so good thing was travelsickness from London - Portsmouth and Portsmouth to home. Can’t be helped though I guess ^^ Since I got back I’ve been busy with work and a little side project, hence the lack of images. Sorry!
